Last week whizzed, this week zoomed! We learned the letters 'x' and 'z' and practised lots of zooming like planes, race cars, and superheroes. This is us zooming over buildings "to the rescue!".
We also made zebras but we thought they were more like the Wonky Donkey! We took them out for a feed of grass on the front field.
Congratulations to Jack who received Pupil of the Week this week for learning his commonly used words so well, and for basically having a fantastic week all round! Well done, Jack.
Next week we will be learning the letters c and o, and the blend tr. We will be learning how to write Nn for handwriting.
Our poem will be Humpty Dumpty and the Big Book will be the Monkey Bridge.
In maths next week we will be doing more ordering of numbers but it might get tricky with some numbers missing! We will be recognising patterns of different numbers. We will also be doing making patterns to five and 10.
In fitness and PE we will be practising our Rob the Nest game as part of our ball skills programme and some starting skills for cross country.
In ICT we will be continuing exploring Kidspix and making pictures of things we have read about.
We will be adding a line to our Mihi for Te Reo so listen out at home for us practising it. We will introduce ourselves and our parents in Te Reo Maori. Try practising with your child.
Ko _______ toku ingoa. Ko ______ toku mama. Ko ________ toku papa.
In Music we will be exploring notation; how we can write sounds we hear.
Thank you to all parents who work hard at home providing lots of fun ways to learn with their children. We hear loads of reports of exciting activities in the weekend, getting out and about, of yummy meals, and special times. These are all great ways to spend time with our most treasured five year olds.
Have a good week everybody.
