Week 4, Term 1

We had a fantastic week this week with lots of learning during the first four days then a fun trip to Nayland Pool to practise our swimming skills! A huge thank you to our wonderful helpers for the day, Nicky (Klara's mum) and Pita and Juanita (SiuMelie's mum and dad). We couldn't have done it without you so your help is greatly appreciated. Check out the photos of us doing starfish, floating on our backs and tummies, and us being super fish gliding through the water.

We also joined up with Room 1 and had a visit from Mr. Science this week who taught us some scientific methods for building towers. We had to think hard and fast to build the tallest tower before he blew his whistle. The trick was, we only had paper and tape to use as materials! One group had to make squares out of paper, one circles, and the other triangles. Luckily we had some help and some clever thinkers amongst us!

After that we tested our shapes for bubble blowing ability. We found out that no matter what shape your bubble blower, whether it be square, circle, or triangle, the bubbles all came out round! We love science!

Congratulations to Anup this week for receiving Pupil of the Week. Anup has been very brave trying new things like swimming. He is also becoming very grown up and doing all his jobs himself. Well done Anup.

Week 3, Term 1

This week we were learning the letter Bb. We read books starting with b, we wrote the letter b, we built big block cities, and we blew bubbles!

There will be a Meet the Teacher opportunity at 2.15pm on Wednesday, in the staffroom.  We invite you to join us in the staffroom for a brief introduction to our syndicate and discussion about what we are doing this year. There will then be a chance for you to come to Room 5 with your child and they can show you around. You can also ask us any questions you have for us.

We have our trip to Nayland Pool next Friday. We still need helpers so if you can come we would appreciate it, thank you.

Congratulations to SiuMelie this week who was awarded Pupil of the Week. SiuMelie is an amazing swimmer! She can duck under the water, blow bubbles and sit on the bottom of the pool, shoot through the water like an arrow, and pick something up from the bottom of the pool. She is also doing all her jobs herself in the morning, something quite hard to do! Well done, SiuMelie. We are all proud of you.

Next week our letter will be Cc and our tricky words will be here, me, this, and Dad. Have a happy and safe week everybody.
