Week 5, Term 2

3-Way Conferences
Thank you for all the parents who made it to the 3-Way Conferences earlier this week. It was lovely to meet those we hadn't met before and to catch up with those we have. Every child had a chance to share with you what we have been doing so far this year. This is a special and important time for children to showcase their work and really helps them 'own' it. We hope this gives the things they do at school more meaning and relevance. Any feedback you have about the sessions would be greatly appreciated so feel free to drop in or drop us a line:

Cross Country
This Thursday we had some amazing runners in the cross country. We ran and ran as fast as we could. We had a beautiful day for it and everyone was primed for action! Congratulations to all our super stars from Room 5 who gave it their best and thank you to all the parents who came to cheer us on.

Pupil of the Week
Congratulations to Kayanne for receiving Pupil of the Week this week. Kayanne has been really working hard during reading time and has been getting some amazing results. Well done Kayanne!

Matariki Celebration
We are getting ready for our Matariki celebrations next week. We have started making lanterns for the walk in the dark by making papermache balloons. We used paste and squares of white tissue paper to cover our balloons. When they are dry we will decorate them and pop the balloons! Yippee!

Have a look at us all having a go on our own individual work pages.

Next Wednesday the whole school takes part in the Matariki celebration and performances after school. Children will stay at school until the performance in the hall finishes around 4.30pm. After this everyone is welcome to join in the walk up the Railway Reserve behind the school as part of the Victory community Matariki celebration. There will be entertainment and a hangi. Bring warm clothes as it can be cold. Looking forward to seeing you there!
